Assessments
Word of Mouth Speech and Language Assessment Services are designed to comprehensively evaluate and understand individual speech, language, and communication abilities.
Assessment of speech and language skills is done using a combination of interviews, standardized and criterion-referenced evaluation tools, and informal assessments/observations.
Using both standardized and informal testing measures, our experienced speech pathologists assess various aspects of speech, language, and communication skills. These assessments help identify strengths, areas for improvement, and potential challenges.
Results are provided in the form of evaluation reports. Assessment results guide the development of personalized therapy plans tailored to address specific speech, language, and or communication goals, and are a critical first step in the therapy process.

Our speech and language therapy services are designed for convenience, with in-home sessions proving not only more practical for families, but also more effective. Research suggests that therapy in natural environments yields better results than clinical settings.
Sessions are personalized to meet the client's specific needs. Opting for in-home therapy offers the added benefits of parent coaching and home practice programs, allowing parents to learn valuable strategies to reinforce speech and language skills with their children between sessions.

Advocacy and support services provided through Word of Mouth Speech Therapy aim to assist families through this process. We are available to act as a supportive alliance to families, whether you are just beginning to navigate the special education process within the school setting, or already have an active IEP. Let us help bridge the gap between home and school-based services and supports.
A quick note on payment: Word of Mouth Speech Therapy does not accept insurance, and uses a private pay model/fee-for-service model. Word of Mouth Speech Therapy is considered an “out of network provider” and is not affiliated with any insurance companies. While we do not work directly with insurance companies, we are able to provide super bills with relevant treatment and diagnostic codes. Super bills are provided to clients upon request, and may be submitted to insurance companies to seek reimbursement. As a disclaimer, Word of Mouth Speech Therapy does not serve as a liaison between you and your insurance company, nor as an advocate for reimbursement of services. Please check with your specific plan ahead of time to understand any policies for super bill submission, deductibles, out-of-network reimbursement rates and copays.
